Player Information:

DSC offers an open tryout to all interested soccer players from U-8 thru U-High School Boys and Girls. The tryouts include a two day session which last 1.5 hrs each. During tryouts the DSC staff, trainers, and coaches will observe and evaluate players in soccer related environments. You must attend both days of tryouts for consideration. Tryouts are designed to provide a non-biased and thorough assessment of a player’s ability. During the tryout process the players will be evaluated on four components of the game of soccer. These evaluations will include but are not limited to:

• Technical Skills – Ball control, Passing, Shooting, Defending
• Tactical Skills – Field Awareness, Decision Making, Positioning 
• Physical Skills – Speed, Strength, Endurance, Agility 
• Psychological Skills – Desire, Attitude, Effort, Sportsmanship

Participation on a prior year’s team does not guarantee a position on this year’s team. In addition to tryouts each returning player from previous seasons will be assessed by their respective coach(s) and trainer(s). All of the above criteria seen over a full season will be taken into consideration for team placements especially if a returning player is Ill or injured when tryouts take place.

The DSC employs a best team philosophy where every effort is made to place players at the level at which they will develop to their highest potential and play at a level that is appropriate to their skills. DSC strives to place all players who attend tryouts on a team but all placements can’t be guaranteed.

Parent Information:

DSC Team managers are typically parent volunteers who want to make your experience at the Club a successful one. 

The following items are required for each player and can either be completed before tryouts  by pre-registering your player or when you get to tryouts:

• Complete DSC Tryout Form
• Complete DSC Liability Release Form
